I do not like misleading advertising. I feel ripped off. Don’t you? If it is a TV ad you can complain to the advertising authorities.
If it is on the Internet what do you do? I was looking for a service on Google and clicked on their top ad that said something like
Very affordable service. Small business can easily afford us. Prices start at $143 for the starter pack. At that time I was surprised how they could afford that service for that price.
Recently someone I know contacted that company and asked for a proposal for the service they were providing. Shock oh shock the starter pack was actually $990 plus GST!
Plus there were so many add ons which you could not avoid. Now isn’t that misleading advertising? It is really amazing to what extent businesses will go, to get customers.
I am sure they have covered their back with some nice fine print. The internet has made it easier to advertise your business – thereby creating claims like the ad above. In brick & mortar I bet you cannot get away with these kind of tactics.
