Profit pulling websites for the small business
Google Page rank
To rank well in the organic searches especially in Google you need to do certain things on your website.
The number one thing is to have relevant keywords to the subject or topic on your website (Do some research to find out which word will be your primary keyword) and have the content with the keywords in them.
A good percentage is 3-5% of the content should be your keywords. More than that is considered keyword stuffing by Google. Write a separate article for your main keyword. Write relevant rich content that will be useful for your visitor. Use your main keyword in your headlines. For example if your site is about holidaying in Bahamas have a title like “Find the best deals for a great summer holiday in Bahamas”
And the article should be about finding the best locations to holiday accommodations how to get there, where to eat, leisure, what to see local people etc. Try to include your main keyword “holidaying in Bahamas” interspersed in the article.
The second thing you have to do is get relevant inbound links to your site from good PR sites. The higher the PR the better. When you get the links make sure your anchor text (The text that appears as links in the other site) has the main keyword. For example the anchor text should read something like “Best deals for a holiday in Bahamas”. When you request link try to get your anchor text in the links. This is quite important as Google gives a lot of importance to this.
Link Building is the process of finding related/relevant websites and placing a link to those websites on yours then asking them to link back to you, i.e. link building is done through link exchanges or reciprocal links; the process by where both websites link to each other and bring mutual benefit to each site.
It is good to have at least 25-30 relevant inbound links. Look at your competition to see where they stand as far as linking is concerned.
Linking is critical not only with your search engine placement but it helps stabilize you positions in the search engines and delivers traffic directly from the sites that link to you.
Thirdly make sure your site is spider friendly. Google reads text from left upper most corner to the bottom right of the page. Flash, Cold fusion etc is not read by Google. Make sure you have a got sitemap showing all the links in your site. This helps to tell the search engine where to go next. Have a good navigation system in your site. Have the navigation as text links.
To recap implement the above three important strategies and over time your page rank will improve. Don’t forget to keep adding fresh content to your site as well.
